Mindful Fashion: Cute New Finds that Check All the Boxes

I’m so excited to share these dresses and tell you a bit more about the company, Everlane, that I just recently discovered! This was my very first time trying on items from Everlane and I have to say, I’m SO impressed by the fit and quality of their clothing! If I had to compare the style and look of their clothing to another company, I would say that their dresses remind me of something you would find at Aritzia!

All of the dresses I ordered from Everlane are timeless and contemporary, and something you can keep in your closet for the next 5-10 years which I find invaluable these days. Lately I’ve been learning so much about all of the products that I’m buying whether it’s food, fashion, or home decor pieces and while I can’t say that I have a clear conscious with everything I buy, lately, I’m proud to say that I’ve come across some great options that are fun, easy, and so transparent!

There’s no denying that fast fashion plays a harsh role on our environment and it’s beyond satisfying to find a company that not only provides quality items at a relatively affordable price … I mean, they are still a bit of an investment BUT keep in mind that they are going to stick around in your closet for a lot longer and you’ll get much more use out of classic pieces like these than you will with the “in style” one-offs.

Personally, I’m trying to buy less and invest in quality items that I know will last longer and I feel as though this company is a great place to start if you have the same mentality! Most of the dresses are around the $75-$100 mark but they FEEL and LOOK like they have a higher price point, if I were to guess just by looking at them I would have pegged them to be around $100-$200 per item! Also, if the price tag is still a bit daunting to you, keep your eyes peeled for their sale and lower priced items … like the grey cotton tee dress I have is only $25 and it’s SO COMFY!!

Plus, this company is actually one I can get on board with for more reasons than just their fashionable clothes, they also have strict guidelines around which factories they partner with! They spend months finding the best ethical factories around the world, they even make sure to audit and evaluate fair wages, reasonable hours and working environments. Love, love, love this!!

Alright, let’s dig into the dresses that I have from Everlane and why I love them so much! Keep in mind, none of these dresses are maternity which I’m excited about because that means I’ll be able to wear them leading up to and AFTER the baby too!!

Mini Wrap Dress

This dress is perfect for all shapes and sizes considering it’s a wrap dress! The tie allows you to make it as tight or as loose as you would like, which is PERFECT for my growing bump!

Cotton Tee Dress

This is the cotton tee dress I mentioned above that is only $25 and it’s so freakin comfy! I would wear this dress with a jean jacket and a pair of boots!

Long Slip Dress

This long slip dress fits really well even with my bump (it’s not maternity!), I found it so flattering and easy to style! Just toss on a cute hat and a pair of sandals and you’re ready to go, it’s the perfect outfit for a summer patio dinner where you want to be dressed up a little but still casual! Also, the material is super lightweight but not see through!

Short Sleeve A-Line Dress

I LOVE the material of this A-line dress because it’s really thick so it doesn’t need a liner, and, it comes in three different colours! I do, however, think I want to get it taken in just a smidge so it fits a little tighter but other than that, I love the way it fits … and it has pockets!!

Cotton Shirtdress

This long sleeve shirtdress is really great for my bump and something I think I’ll be wearing on set one day! I love the fact that it’s not only a bit dressier but it’s also comfortable and something you would wear all day long!

    1. I honestly loved ALL of the dresses in my order!!! You have to let me know what you think of them!!! xoxo

  2. That’s so funny because I just placed my first Everlane order last week! I had known about the company for awhile but just hadn’t pulled the trigger on anything yet. I have some tops and jeans coming. I’m really excited to try some dresses next! I had actually been thinking of suggesting the company to you as I figured it’d be right up your alley so I was super excited to see your IG post today 🙂

    1. Have been a fan of Everlane for years but was hesitant about buying anything while pregnant. But now I feel like I can since they look so good on you with your bump!

Did you get a size up for the slip dress or cotton shirt dress to accommodate the belly? Or did you just get your regular size?

      So exciting!

      1. I just got my regular size but it probably wouldn’t hurt to size up if you want to be able to wear it longer through your pregnancy! xo

  3. I’m so excited about this blog post! I have been looking at their website for months unsure if the clothes are as good as they look, so I’m so happy to see your opinion! What’s the sizing like? Are the clothes fairly true to size or would you recommend sizing up/down? Thank you!

  4. I’m in love with this post and the dresses and I can’t wait to order! I am 4 months pregnant and I was just wondering if you ordered your usual size or went up a size? Thank so much!!

  5. Hi Jill,
I LOVE the slip dress and am going to order as soon as I’m done writing to you!! Really love how you’ve styled it with that hat! Such a happy colour? May I ask where the hat is from?

    Thanks,

    Linda

  6. AHHHH! Please help! Where did you get the light blue dress that was in your intsa stories about a week ago? It looks like you were at a wedding. You also wore it at the Nordstrom jewelry premier. It has bell sleeves. I sound like a total stalker – hahaha! I have a wedding coming up and would love to buy that dress for it. Thanks!

  7. Hi Jillian,

I want to order the wrap dress for my baby sprinkle (I have a boy Leo’s age and a girl due in November). Did you size up or do you think I should size up? Ill have a 35 week bump at that time and I am similar sizing to you.

    Thanks!
