Bikini Body Tips with Daily Routine Fitness

    July 9, 2014 • 10:00 am

Pulling out that bikini for the first time this summer can be an intimidating thing for many women...and the thought of actually putting it on can make you break out in goosebumps even though it’s blazing hot outside! So my good friend Rachel Doell of Daily Routine Fitness has put together a foolproof plan to get you ready for that bikini debut!!!!

    1. The most important thing to remember is not to let that winter coat of curves hold you back from hitting the beach. If you've got it, rock it!  One of the most attractive things for a woman to wear is confidence. Find a bathing suit that you feel comfortable in—one that doesn't cover you up but highlights your best features.

    2. Getting a spray tan will help show off all that hard work you have put into your body and will really highlight your muscles. Make sure to go with a studio you feel comfortable with so you don't look like you came out of the tropics!

    3. When putting on a swimsuit, the last thing you want to feel is bloated, so leading up to the big bikini debut, watch your processed carbohydrate intake. Focus more on carbohydrates that are going to fuel and flush your body of water retention. Yams are a great option because they actually pull excess water out of the muscles. Cucumbers and celery are also packed with healthy amounts of water, so they hydrate the body, decreasing dehydration and bloating.

    4. When cleaning up your diet, add more lean proteins, fibrous vegetables, and healthy fats to fuel your body and keep you feeling fuller longer.

    5. Drink up! By increasing your water consumption, you also reduce bloating and digestive problems, make your skin healthier, and increase your energy. Go fill your glass!

    6. When planning your workouts, make sure to add high-intensity cardio to your weekly routine. You don't have to kill yourself, but by adding 3 or 4 20-30 minute HIIT sessions, you will increase caloric burn. It's one of the quickest ways to slim out those trouble areas.

    7. Don't skip upper body day! When shaping our bodies for the summer, sometimes we can focus too much on the areas that bother us such as butt, legs and abs. Taking time to train your back and shoulders will leave you looking taller and leaner. When our posture improves, so does the shape of our bodies. A person with good posture and a strong back can literally look 10 pounds lighter than she would with poor posture.

    8. Hit up a barre class. I love barre class because it covers everything we are concerned about as the clothes get smaller and the days get hotter. Barre class will take you through a series of cardio, dance, toning, and sculpting for your buns, abs, and upper body. In my opinion, this is one of the best ways to lean the body out for the summer.

    9. Find a workout buddy! Getting out in the sun or hitting up a class can be a lot more fun when you include some of your girlfriends. If you’re looking to reach a goal and are stressing over the number of wine nights currently on the social calendar, why not change up ladies’ night and all go to a yoga, spin, or boot-camp class together?! Working out with a friend can also help to keep you accountable and motivated to reach that goal.

    10. And last but not least, relax! Having fun and enjoying life is one of the most fulfilling things we can do for our health and bodies. Stressing over that bikini body is not going to make you lose those unwanted pounds. It's going to increase your cortisol levels, which increases your fat stores! So take a deep breath and celebrate every healthy choice you make for your mind, body, and spirit this summer.

My Bachelorette Recap: Episode 8 & JHforPriv GIVEAWAY

    July 8, 2014 • 10:00 am

SOOOOO….as most of you know, my Jillian Harris for Privilege clothing line is launching THIS FRIDAY, and what better way to get you excited than to host a GIVEAWAY!!!!! You could get your hands on the dress I featured yesterday…the Peggy Dress!!! Keep reading to find out how to enter!!!!

Onto The Bachelorette....HOME TOWN DATES!!!!! ALREADY!!! Overall, everyone’s families were really welcoming and excited for Andi to be in their sons’ lives, so Andi is pretty lucky! Nick’s home town date was first, and I’m not gonna lie…I teared up a bit when Nick was getting emotional talking to his Mom! I guess I never really saw a soft, emotional side to Nick during any other episode, and you could really sense how much he cares for Andi. I still hate how cocky and confident he is…it’s like he KNOWS he’s going to the end so he could care less about these next few rose ceremonies!! Someone needs to knock some sense into this one!!!!

Chris’ family was SOOOO surprisingly nice! I didn’t know what to expect with his family, as they are so close knit, AND they live on a secluded farm in a very small town. I thought they would be over-protecting and possibly stern and judgemental, but that was not they case! Just a whole bunch of sweethearts!!! No wonder Chris has a heart of gold :)

I honestly felt like Josh’s date was super awkward and all about his brother. That was ALL Josh talked about, even at the dinner table! You could tell by the look on Andi’s face that she was suuuper uncomfortable because the day is supposed to be about HER and JOSH….but to each their own! The fact that the whole family is so supportive around sports and extra curricular activities is great, but it almost seemed like Andi had no choice but to watch Aaron play baseball every Sunday…and if  I were her….I would tire of that reeeeaaal fast because sometimes,  I want Sundays to myself!!

WHAAAAT JUST HAPPENED???? I don’t understand how Marcus went home before Chris….he was the one who showed his love the most, told her how much he LOVED her, and she even said it would be a fairy tale being with him!!! He was extremely open and honest the entire time, and told Andi that he loved her very soon after this journey started. That probably scared Andi a little bit, but she even said it herself, Marcus would give her THE WORLD!!!! He adores Andi, and would be such a loving, devoted husband to anyone….this episode had a sad ending :(

Eric’s death clearly affected everyone on the show, including all of the cast and crew, but it was nice to see them all come together and comfort each other. I do feel bad for Andi, as her last conversation with Eric was not the greatest, but that’s life, and there’s not much else you can do than dwell on good times and positivity!

To win my lovely Jillian Harris for Privilege Peggy Dress, complete the steps below! The more steps you complete, the more entries you receive!!! Contest closes Friday, July 11 at 10AM PST! Good luck everyone!!!

    July 7, 2014 • 10:00 am

Like every girl, I have a HUGE obsession with clothes and fashion, if you haven’t noticed!!!!!  So of course, creating my OWN pieces and my own clothing line has ALWAYS been a dream of mine! After being on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, I received tons of requests from friends, family and fans to go for it and create my own collection. The encouragement was overwhelming, but the whole process seemed like such a daunting, difficult task that I got intimidated, and eventually put this dream of mine on hold.

Years later, I met the team at Privilege Clothing, and they brought up the idea again, and gave me ALL the courage I needed to put my mind to it and go for it. The Privilege team has been SOOO encouraging and motivating, and they have helped facilitate this process to make it so seamless and worth while! Thank you so, so much, Privilege, I am SOOO excited for this journey to begin!!!

The Jillian Harris for Privilege line is a small summer capsule collection of about 15 pieces. I wanted every piece to be an iconic Jilly piece, mixing feminine with casual, and structure with colour. Each piece is designed with versatility in mind, and can be worn with anything from heels to flats to sandals!!

How much do you LOVE this White Lace Trim dress??? The cut is so flattering and comfortable, perfect for any one of you to dress up or dress down!

The collection will be available for purchase online at JillianHarris.com THIS FRIDAY, July 11th, so DON’T miss out!!!!!

I also want to give a HUGE thank you to all of my followers, fans and supporters for your constant encouragement and belief in me!! Thank you, thank you thank you!!!!!!

Oh and PS...there will be TONS of giveaways happening on the blog this week and next, so be sure to check back here TOMORROW!!!!
