How much do you know about sun damage? Are you finally starting to realize how bad the sun actually is for your skin and body!?!? Are you starting to see those wrinkles and sun spots!? I mean sure lots of it comes with aging as well but the sun definitely isn’t your best friend when it comes to aging gracefully. Recently I’ve been doing my best to protect myself from those harsh UV rays and instead get the summer glow in other ways …. SO I’ve decided to share with you my top 5 ways to achieve the look of summer without the damage.
1. SELF TANNER:
Self tanners!!! These are the key secret to a summer glow without the sun. Depending on the self tanner you use you can literally fool anyone. If you are wanting a true glow (my secret), try leaving it on overnight. This will not only give you the best results, but truthfully, it’ll look way more natural the better it sinks into your skin.
I use Prtty Peaushun … this is the stuff the celebrities call “magic cream”. It is infused natural plant extracts to lift, firm, tighten and diminish the appearance of cellulite, stretch marks and varicose veins…!!! It will leave your skin radiant and shimmering from the inside out!!!!
Before you use that self tanner, make sure that you are preparing your skin. This means you need to EXFOLIATE!!! You can do this 2 ways… either by dry brushing, which also helps circulation to reduce cellulite. OR by using a body exfoliant like this one below from Eco Diva Beauty. I personally do both and just alternate days to switch things up and get the best of both worlds. Do you notice your skin flaking and shedding after being in the sun??? Well this step will DEFINITELY help if you are a sun loving baby and don’t want to kick it!!
During the summer time I wear make up less and less. If you’re anything like me most of the days are spent out in the sun or on the water. Basically, within 30 minutes I am makeupless!!!! SO if you are wanting to ditch the heavy and cakey foundation all together … I say you opt for a tinted moisturizer. A tinted moisturizer is a great way to add glow to your skin but still provide enough coverage so that you’re comfy walking around almost naked!!! Trust me … you will thank me later … your make up routine will take you less than 5 minutes and your skin will be glowing from ear to ear.
The best part about the moisturizer that I use … is it has an SPF 20 in it!!! No need to layer on moisturizer and then sunscreen … it’s quick and easy all in one while still getting that tint and perfect amount of summer coverage.
Water is seriously the cure for everything. Dehydration will cause your skin to look BLAH and run down. Once you start chugging back the H2O every chance you get … your entire skin, body, hair and nails will be thanking you. This will help give your skin that doowey look we want while using minimal moisturizers and products.
I can’t stress enough how important it is to carry around your own water bottle with you everywhere you go. It basically forces you to drink it because you constantly want it to be empty so that it’s lighter to carry!!!!
Bronzer is another way to get a summer glow without having to lay in the sun. You have to be careful thought because it is REALLY easy to over-do it. You want your bronzer to look natural so the secret is to use a little bit on your cheeks, forehead, nose and chin line. Make sure the colour isn’t too dark for your skin so it looks natural and blends in … like you did just get bronzed!!!

Finding the right way to get a summer glow without the sun is completely up to you! You have to find the way that works best and easiest in your routine for YOU!!! For me, I live by all 5 tips, but if you prefer only one then I say stick to it and you will still see a difference.
