Argan Oil for the Win

Morning loves!! I hope you’re having a great week so far … it’s been a LITTLE hectic for us with the move in FULL effect … I have to admit it’s feeling a little weird … but exciting at the same time! With all of the chaos happening around us I’ve found that having a shower or a hot bath at the end of the day is the one thing that really helps me to destress and calms me down … not to mention, I take FULL advantage of this brief alone time to  unwind with a glass of wine (you only live once, right?!) and considering I can’t help but to always be multi-tasking (lol!!) I also use this time to test out Avalon Organics products! If you missed my last review on their Intense Defense skin care line, make sure to check it out here!

Anywho … back to today’s topic, today it’s all about Argan Oil!! The other day I gave Avalon Organics new Damage Control shampoo and conditioner a try! This duo is made with organic argan and avocado oils, calendula extract and quinoa protein!! Crazy right?! Sounds like something I would want to eat!! LOL!! Ok, you know what comes first … the sniff test. I’ll give both of these a definite pass, the smell of these actually reminds me of maraschino cherries!!

The shampoo lathers up beautifully and made my hair feel really soft, the conditioner is THICK which I personally really like, it actually felt like I was putting a hair mask on, well … it sort of IS like a hair mask as you’re supposed to leave it on your hair for 1-3 minutes before rinsing, I went for the full three minutes to get the best results and it seemed to do the trick! My hair combed out with ease after using the products which was AWESOME considering there are no parabens in any of these, just like the skin care line the shampoo and conditioner are both vegan and completely certified organic … hell, even the bottles are made of 100% recycled material!

I also noticed on the side of the bottle there was a little sentence that said “We can lift girls out of poverty with basic reading skills” and then there was a link listed, so of course I was intrigued and had to check this out and I found out that Avalon has partnered with a company called CARE, they work around the globe to save lives, defeat poverty and achieve social justice AND Avalon is working to advocate for changes in local and government-level policy to make it possible for girls from all backgrounds to have access to education!! Ummm … hello?! LOVE THIS!!!

After my shower I immediately went to put some lotion on my body and quickly remembered that I also had their Antioxidant Oil (this is from their Intense Defense line!!), I haven’t ever tried using oil in replace of body lotion so this was the time to give this a go too!! All you need is a few drops to massage into your skin just as you would lotion! It absorbs very quickly, makes your skin baby soft and smells great!! How could it not though when it’s a blend of Apricot, Raspberry, and Argan Oil?! Yum!! I even tested a little on my lips to see if it would help with my chapped post winter lips … the struggle is real!!

So far the thing I’m loving the most while trying out these products is that you don’t need a lot of product to do the trick, from their skin care line to their hair care, you get your bang for your buck!

Alrighty, that’s a wrap for this one. I really hope you found this review helpful and it inspires you to give these products a try!! Make sure to stay tuned for more review, I have yet to try out their Lavender bath and shower gel and body lotion, their Wrinkle Therapy collection and more!!

Have you tried Avalon Organics shampoo or conditioner? If so, which one and what did you like most about it?? Comment below!!

Until next time …
