Food Friday: Overnight Oats

A little while back, I posted a recipe for Bircher Museli, which calls for leaving the oats to soak overnight. The recipe was so popular and I ended up eating the museli so many days in a row, that I decided to get creative in the kitchen and came up with new ways to have overnight oats! The recipe is so incredibly easy and delish that it would be crazy NOT to make them! Plus, you can really use whatever you have on hand, so have fun making up your own version of overnight oats!!! OH and I also wanted to make this so I could take the mason jar to work – and eat on the run – that is the best part of overnight oats!

Ingredients & Directions

the 3 types I made were:

  • Banana, coconut, chocolate, cinnamon, pecan
  • Berry Apple
  • Blue Berry Banana walnut

Almost all of them have the same base – oats, hemp seed, chia seeds (the chia seeds have protein so it’s good to keep you going all morning!)

From there – the possibilities and combinations are endless. Once you have your basic ingredients in there – fill the jar up with milk, almond milk, coconut milk, chocolate milk … you name it! and let it sit over night!

I did a little research and it turns out i’m not the only one loving over night oats – and there are some awesome recipes out there!!! Here’s some more overnight oat inspiration:
