These Heels Were Made for Walkin’

I’ve had my fair share of heels in my lifetime from stiletto’s to pumps to sling backs and the ones where you think to yourself five minutes into your night out “why the f*$k did I wear these?!” Yup. I’ve had em all. Back in the day I could tough out the most uncomfortable heels (with the help of liquid courage and a grimace) but ever since I’ve had Leo … there’s nothing MORE important to my feet (and my sanity) than a great pair of COMFORTABLE heels. I have to be able to not only walk in them but carry a CHILD on my hip in them … and they best not give me blisters.

I want to quickly stop here for a moment and address the fact that these particular heels are unfortunately suede and I REALLY REALLY wish they weren’t!! While I’m working VERY hard to drastically reduce all animals products in my house and home, footwear is one thing that seems to be the toughest to avoid, I’m trying my absolute best to avoid it where possible so please bare with me on this journey of mine!

I was on the hunt for a comfier pair of heels after realizing how UNCOMFORTABLE my old time favs were that I wore with absolutely everything before having Leo. You might remember me rockin’ these in every single outfit photo and telling you how much I LOVED them!!! LOL not so much anymore … I needed to find something similar but COMFIER. So low and behold I came across these heels. They are so freakin’ comfortable with the chunky heel and not to mention are so easy to walk in. I can wear them all day without feeling the immediate urge to rip them off as soon as I get home. Plus, they’re more of an everyday look, AND it’s an updated style from my other favs!!! Oh, and they also come in a rainbow of colours!!! Yup I have them in hot pink, black, blue and oatmeal!

These are the type of heels that you can really dress up or down, you can pair them with your favourite dress or ripped jeans, you can wear them grocery shopping, out for lunch, to baby showers, a girl’s night out, the list goes on! When I come across of pair of heels like these it’s extremely hard for me NOT to invest in all of the colours they come in because I know for sure that they’ll get their wear and in the end I’ll get my money’s worth!

While I’ve been on the hunt for a very long time now for some amazing vegan leather heels, I just haven’t QUITE found some that can replace these, yet … so, if you’re reading this blog and you know of a pair of heels out there that are similar to these and made with faux leather please let me know in the comments section, I would LOVE to hear your suggestions so I can put my search for the perfect faux leather heel to rest! Lol!!

Ps. Here are a few faux leather heels that I’ve come across so far, I thought I would share them with you in case you wanted to give them a try!!

  1. TOMS heels are SO comfortable!! And I actually also found a pair of amazing heels at……Marks Warehouse!! WHO KNEW! They are slippers comfy!

    1. @Gloria…why follow someone just to be negative and tear them down?? You are unhappy. Don’t spread that to others who are. Jillian has said that she is not 100% vegan. If you followed her, you would know that. She’s plant and some animal based. Get over it. Go outside, smell the flowers, and don’t judge other who are no so perfect as you.

  2. Are we going to hear the same excuse every time you stray from your claims to be “veganish”? “Bear with me” while I wear this animal skin because really I just care more about my #ads than my morals. Why don’t you just get over the need to remind everyone all the time how you are omg so veganish and be true to who you really are in daily life – a leather wearing and leather seat Jeep ( NOT Buick!!! Hahaha) owner.

    1. @Gloria…So sorry to see you are such an unhappy individual. While it is very important to stay true to one’s self, who are you to judge?? Please get off your high horse and stop judging others. Find the kindness I’m sure you have in you and spread positivity. The world has enough hate, judgement and negativity

      Namaste.

      1. @Suzanne why are you so unhappy that you need to attack others who have an opinion different than yours? Namaste.

      2. @Shaniqua @Justine….both of you ladies just proved my point!!!!! πŸ˜‰

I’ll be sure to check out both of YOUR blogs where you put YOURSELVES out there.

        Have a great day! πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

        Namaste

        1. Suzane – I can understand if you don’t like the tone of some posts, but honestly…this blog is not a place where Jillian “puts herself out there”. It is primarily sponsored content. It is very often self-righteous about things like love for animals in the non-sponsored content, and then it has an about-face when Pantene or some other “partner” (actually not sure how Jillian gets away with not identifying her ads on instagram – both she and Tori refer to sponsored posts as “partnered”, as if…lol. As if they are not being paid by their “partners”). I don’t think Gloria is necessarily an “unhappy person”. I know I’m not. I’ve followed Jillian since she was on the Bachelor. Like any celebrity I follow, I often make negative judgements about them as public figures. Jillian has a team of people who write her posts for her (if you go back to the birthday post to her that was written by her so-called “editor” Shay you can identify any of the posts that Shay produces by the terrible uneducated writing and the overuse of LOL!!! LOL!!!!! LOL!!!!!! everywhere). She pays that team by way of these sponsored posts. We don’t need to feel bad for criticizing them or making fun of them. I’m sure Jillian has a super fulfilling life that has absolutely nothing to do with her Sam Edelman heels and photo shoots along Water street. Jillian follows the “influencer” business model, where she sells products by integrating them into her lifestyle and then sharing her lifestyle. It’s not a criticism of Jillian as a person to point out inconsistencies or hypocrisy. It’s a criticism of the business model of this blog, which is one giant #ad.

          1. @Emma…Thank you for taking the time to clarify. I am not in business and reading your reply definitely made things a lot more clear. πŸ™‚

          2. @Emma regardless of your thoughts about how one generates revenue for a living, you have a choices to either follow or not follow a celebrity. You also have a choice to be mindful of the negative and toxic venom you spew to hurt someone. JH often gives back to the community. As well, because of her status she is able to shine a light on several charities and great causes. Can’t be that bad..eh?

Equally, @Emma I do NOT agree with your statement of “We don’t need to feel bad for criticizing them or making fun of them”. I certainly do not teach that to my 4 daughters that way of thinking. I teach them respect and accountability for their actions and behaviour. Behind JH and her team are actual people that work hard and are successful whether you agree with it or not, If you do not agree,,,why not simply unfollow and move on??? Aren’t their greater causes as women that we should tackle? Syria, Bill O’Reilly, bill Cosby, Trump? Why do we..as women bring each other down like petty and catty little b#### rather than celebrate our successes? Sad.

          3. Feel free to correct my grammar… And the use of their rather than there. Should have proofread. ???

          4. You sure have a lot of time to spend on her page hating. Also, usually it says at the bottom if it’s a sponsored post or not per the ad rules for sponsored posts. This post does not say that. Not every post is sponsored. Now go get a hobby, jealousy is not a hobby.

          5. Hi Emma,

I know you’re all high and mighty with your MBA from a fancy school or what not but I’m a student too in Public Relations. Good luck every getting a job with this attitude. It literally disgusts me when I see people like you bragging about their education. Too bad school can’t teach you to be a compassionate person.

    2. Just curious as to where she claims to be vegan for the animals? She has posted that she isn’t vegan. They like a more plant based lifestyle as it’s healthier but they still eat meat and fish. Hey I’m not a fan of fur in fashion but leather shoes are hard to beat quality wise in the shoe department. When a fake leather can last as well as a real one and be just as soft I’ll jump on it. But so far, nope.

  3. Spring doesn’t sell any leather! I would assume no suede too but be sure to check, I always ask and look at the labels. Stella Mcartney is the only high end fashion designer not have ONLY vegan products which is amazing – would be a bit too expensive for me, but if you want to invest then that is possibly an option! πŸ™‚

  4. As it turns out, we are a new online retailer that just launched a collection of luxury vegan footwear for women. It’s called SOULiers Studio!

In fact, we have a pair that are very similar to those that Jillian is wearing in this feature (although not in pink).

    1. Brandy – How do you know that Jillian isn’t posting a picture of herself walking Leo while on a break from a photo shoot? If I could have taken my babies out for a stroll on my work breaks, I would have looked very similar. “Wrong turn in advertising a cute pair of shoes.” So..mom’s can’t look put together while taking a walk with their baby?

  5. I think a Mom wearing “comfy” heels is pretty funny. Going to work or out on a date, maybe. This is a stretch and a wrong turn in advertising a cute pair of shoes.

    1. Brandy-

Every women is different. My mother wore heels everyday since I can remember. Whether she was at work as a VP or just playing with me she loved to look glam. It’s really just personal preference.

  6. I must say, those are super cute heels! After bith of my pregnancies my feet grew a half size so right bow I only have 3 pairs of shoes that fit. Oh weel – its an excuse to buy some more πŸ™‚ I really like the nuke’s you had on your IG. The Juvenate. I ordered a pair and if they are as cute in person as they are on your IG I’ll be buying more. πŸ™‚
I love your blog and your reviews – sponsored or not – Thanks so much for letting us in on your life. I really enjoy your IG stories with little Leo. He is 2 months younger than my little guy. My 2 year old daughter loves watching the IG stories too. She always says things like “let’s watch the lady who is pretty like mommy!”
    Have a great day!

    1. My mother always taught me “If you don’t have anything nice to say- don’t say anything at all!! For those who put negative comments – perhaps you should look in a mirror and remind yourselves that people have feelings. Throwing stones at someone is not the way to behave.

  7. jillian, never stop what you are doing. I love following along with your story and what’s happening with you and your family. You are truly an inspiration, don’t ever change!

If I didn’t work with farmers on a daily basis I would be rocking those shoes every damn day!

    Xoxo!!

  8. I’m going to order those pink Sam Feldman’s, and post a pic of myself while I take my dog for a walk. I’m going to feel great about it, and for those of you “anyone who doesn’t believe in what I do” warriors, you can stick it because I’m going to feel and look great doing it. Thank you Jillian. I love those shoes!
