My Every Day Cruelty-Free Makeup Tutorial

Hey everyone! Today I’m so excited to share my quick (and EASY!!) everyday makeup tutorial with you! All of the products I’m using in this tutorial are my favourites … and the best part is, they are all cruelty-free!!!

As most of you know, Kaitlin does my makeup when I’m on set so when I’m at home I generally don’t bother putting any makeup on unless I have to run out for a meeting or out for dinner, etc. However, even if I DO have to toss some makeup on I try to do it as fast and effortless as I can!!

    1. Try switching the country from US to Canada!! That might be the issue!! Let me know if that works! xo

  1. You’re adorable as always. However, one thing I think you NEED to try for yourself is Nerium’s Eye-V Hydrogels and the Age-Defying Eye Serum. From one mum to another these are lifesavers and must have products. I would love to share with you and the girls if you’re up for proving me with feedback. I’m a BC gal living in AB but we are coming through for a wedding at the end of the month. Lemme know… seems that our values align. No animal testing on our products!

  2. Thanks for sharing your routine! I’m always looking for great cruelty-free makeup products and now I’ve got a few more to add to the list 🙂

  3. Hey, Jilly! What products do you use for dry skin?

I have been looking for natural products for winter! (I’m going to have to try those lip crayons )

    Thanks, Nicolette

      1. Monica,
MAC sells their products in China. The Chinese government mandates their products be tested on animals before they can be sold in their country. Therefore MAC is not cruelty free.

  4. Hi Jillian…your makeup looked great…totally natural yet gave you a nice “put-together” look. Can you share why you don’t use MAC products anymore, it was unclear in the video. Thank you ?

  5. Love this! Hate those beauty blenders too. Prefer to use my fingers! Can you share some of your other fav foundations?

  6. You are effortlessly and flawlessly beautiful…with or without the makeup! Can’t wait to look into some of the products you used!

  7. Hi Jillian!

Thank you for doing this! Just goes to show that a little can go a long way! You’re absolutely stunning! Where is your makeup mirror from?

  8. Great video! I’m very curious to know what kind of brush you are using in the video to apply your bronzer and blush. Thanks!

  9. Beeeautiful! Love the tips…any tips for overall skin tone consistency? I’m finding the mid thirties has me with a few sun spots and inconsistencies, considering a peel or light treatment but just not sure. Would love tips on this portion of your skincare routine…thanks for sharing and really loving how you are highlighting products that at are cruelty free ❤️

  10. Hi Jillian, great video! Why did you stop using M.A.C.? I couldn’t catch what you said.. do they test on animals? ?
    Thank you!

  11. I love that you use all crulety free products and that you have a platform to promote them!
You a beautiful person inside and out and I love watching your tutorials.

  12. It might be worth re-thinking your use of Kat Von D products. She has recently come out and said that she’s anti-vaccination. Most people I know have stopped using her products because of this.

  13. Love the natural look and the fact that you’re using cruelty free makeup! I recently switched to using Elate Cosmetics which I loooove. They’re cruelty free, non toxic and have reusable, refillable containers. I love that more companies are popping up to promote the nontoxic and cruelty free. I’m going to be shopping a few of the brands you mentioned here too!

  14. what brush do you use for the Nude by Nature Bondi Bronzer and you face power . I already bought some of the products your recommended, great video and very natural

  15. As always love your posts!!!
I would love to see a video of Kaitlin doing your make-up as well. She is so talented. She really lets your natural beauty shine through 🙂

  16. I just picked up GLO minerals in trademark today! I live in Denver, Colorado and it turns out they are a local company! Love it so far. Thanks for the tip, it’s so hard to find a good neutral matte lip that isn’t drying!

  17. Love this tutorial! Since you hadn’t worn the Tarte foundation before, how did you like it after a few hours?? Whenever I wear foundation or concealer around my eyes I feel it stings, makes me just want to wash it all off. Is the Tarte matte or dewy and did it bother you around your eyes at all? Thanks!

  18. I went to Feelunique great website with all the products. If you get a chance to tell me the powder and bronzer brush, I want to order that too. I love the look , Thanks again

  19. Wondering if you could share where the mirror is from? I love how big the mirrors are and as you well know after you hit your mid 40’s the eye site starts to go a bit…lol

BTW..I love your decor style and pretty much everything else you talk about too!!

  20. I love your look . You are beautiful
Inside and out . I was so excited to watch this tutorial but , I’m a little confused on why you are calling products you are using for the first time your “ all time favourites “ it just felt like you were trying to market for companies . I’m sorry , I just have to be honest . But of course you look beautiful and I was happy to learn of some of the staples you use .

  21. Hi Jill! Great tutorial. I was wondering if you can confirm that you use the Saje lavender mist for make up setting? Can you also confirm that it gives a slight dewy glow? I just wanted to make sure before I purchase. Thank you so much!

    1. I always spray on the lavender (or rose!!) mist before applying my makeup but I’m not sure if it’s exactly what it was intended for!! Either way, it’s SUCH a nice relaxing mist to spray yourself with!!! xoxo

  22. Hello, just wondering if you have tried Elate cosmetics. I believe they are cruelty free vegan and from Victoria BC
I also like how they package their products as well.
    Take care
    Thank you
    Susan
