Good morning everyone! Mindy here! Yes … I know, you were probably hoping for Jillian and an update on little Annie … I PROMISE you, that’s coming! In fact, we are popping over there today to give them a visit! We can’t wait to see how both of them are doing!!
This blog is something that Jillian and I were working on together prior to little Annie’s arrival so, today, I thought I would share it with you while you (patiently ?) wait for a baby update! LOL!
Fall is one of Jillian’s favourite seasons for so many reasons. It comes with that nice crisp autumn air, paired with sunny days! Comfort food starts to make an appearance and everything gets cozier!
This is about the time when Jillian swaps out her summer dresses with comfy knit sweaters, and the same goes for her home! As many of you already know, she likes to swap out her pillows, throws, decor, and kitchen staples with items that are in season and make all of us just want to curl up on the couch after indulging in a big meal … and probably with a big glass of red! ?
Today, Jillian wanted to share some of her SUPER easy ways to cozy up your home this Fall!
Jillian has candles lit in her house year round but there’s something EXTRA cozy about having them all over in the fall and winter months. They add such a calming ambiance to any space.
This is one of the simplest ways to transform your home into a fall-inspired sanctuary! One of her favourite things to do in September and early October is hit up a pumpkin patch! You can find so many amazing pumpkins and gourds at a low price point to decorate the interior and exterior of your home. Jillian loves a combination of light orange, blue, and white pumpkins for her home. Likewise, you can also invest in faux pumpkins that you can use year after year.
Pro Tip: You can also decorate with corn husks if you want an extra rustic feel!
It feels so inviting when you walk up to a home and there is a wreath hanging on the front door! Jillian always has wreaths on each of her front doors and she tends to switch them out from fall to winter. Most times Jill will use faux wreaths to dress up her porch but last year she splurged on a couple of real wreaths and she loved them!
Garland is also a beautiful staple for the home, whether it’s faux or real, it adds beautiful texture and dimension to tablescapes, railings, and mantels.
Jill is STILL head over heels for her Hello Doormat from Wayfair, which goes great with ANY season. But, if you’re on the hunt for something more festive, there are definitely some cute doormats out there not only for Thanksgiving but for Halloween too!
You can easily dress up any table for Thanksgiving by adding a nice runner, cute buffalo check or gingham napkins and gold utensils, serving trays, and glassware to the table! Take it up a notch by adding some garland down the center of your table and finishing it off with some small pumpkins and candelabras!
There you have it! Easy peasy! Make sure to share some of YOUR favourite fall decor tips and tricks in the comments section!
