Chic Airport Style

I’ve been traveling so much lately to Vancouver (thankfully I get a little break now that I’m just 34 weeks pregnant!) and I sometimes laugh at myself because before Leo I used to wear heels ALL the time, even to the airport… and now I can’t even be bothered.  All I want to wear (especially when traveling), is comfy clothes, shoes that I can run around in all day and something to keep me warm onboard … am I the only one who freezes on planes??

However, the trick to this is making sure I can pull all of this off all while still looking cute sans heels! So, today I’m going to share a few easy-peasy ways you can achieve chic airport style in COMFORT!!

I recently ordered a few staple items from Sole Society that have turned out to be the best staples for traveling!! I’m going to share what they are and why I love them with you below!

First off, I like to toss on a pair of leggings, a tank, and a comfy sweater. The key to airport style is layering!! You never know what the temperature will be like in the airport or on the plane so you’ll want to have a tank under your sweater in case it’s hot but you’ll also want to bring something a little extra with you in case it’s chilly!! I like to bring a kimono with me, I usually will wear this on top of my sweater in the morning then keep it rolled up in my bag for when I get chilly again. My wrap Kimono is from Sole Society, I went with the cream one but they also have this same one in black, oxblood and multi stripe.

I also love to bring a bag with me as a carry-on, and I like it to be big enough to fit my travel necessities such as my computer, phone, chargers, sunglasses, a pair of sneakers, etc!! This vegan duffel is great for all of this as it’s pretty roomy inside and has multiple exterior pockets! Plus … it ALSO comes in three colours!

Now … for the feet!! I like wearing shoes that are obviously comfortable but I also want them to look cute too and these velvet loafers do just that!! As I mentioned earlier, I used to wear heels all the time but lately, I’ve really made the transition over to more flats so these are the perfect addition to my airport outfit!

Lastly, I like to accessorize with a scarf … which can also double as a little blanket on the flight … and scarves are also amazing for traveling with kids as you can use it as a swaddle … or even a Kleenex if you’re desperate! LOL! Also, you can’t forget a cute pair of sunglasses!!

  1. Jillian, my name is Gizele and I’m from Brazil, from the city of Rio de Janeiro, and I’ve been with you for a long time because of the program, I love your design and I have to say that I’m loving your blog. I know how it feels because I wore high heels when I had my son Pedro who is now 8 years old, but when I got pregnant from my little girl who is now 5 years old, I could not wear high heels at all. I loved everything about this blog. Kisses and I’ll wait for the next post.

  2. Jill – does that Sole Society bag you bring…would that be considered your “personal item” as a purse?

  3. Oh my goodness props to you for EVER even considering wearing heels to an airport. I would die! Sneakers all the way! You look super cute! :)!”

  4. Love the travel outfit tips – blanket scarf is perfect (how have I never thought of this?). One thing I never travel without my lullaby mist from pura botanicals! It’s literally a life saver on airplanes. It’s targeted toward mama and baby, but it’s so irresistable and perfect for a good nights sleep in even the worst places, like airplanes – maybe it would help with insomnia? You should check them out on Instagram! Love your blog. Huge fan.

  5. Hi Jillian!

Where are the black comfy leggings from? I’ve been trying to find some decent maternity ones, but it’s quite overwhelming!!!

    Thanks!

  6. I love this so much! I travel every week for work and struggle to find multiple outfits that are both cute & comfy. Right now I’m basically wearing leggings, cute flats, an army green light jacket and a scarf. But I need to change it up, the airport people must think I don’t own any other clothes!

  7. Hi Jillian!!
Thank you for sharing Sole Society and all they have to offer! Totally in love with everything on their site and your post was a great inspiration!
    That vegan duffel!! Must have!

  8. I didn’t even know they made vegan duffel bags, that is awesome. I just found out there is vegan toothpaste too, that doesn’t use plastic. Bite Toothpaste. I love how the world is slowly changing for the better and we all are trying to do our part. I love your Instagram posts which I could comment on your stories. You are doing an amazing job Jillian.
